Norwood Systems Announces Completion of Smartphone Platform Coverage for World Message

‘Sharing Economy’ and ‘Communications as a Service’ pioneer Norwood Systems Ltd (ASX: NOR) is pleased to announce that its World Message App is now available for Android smartphones, complementing the Company’s existing support for World Message on the iPhone platform.

World Phone® and World Message both launched first on Apple’s iOS-powered iPhones. World Phone launched in July 2015 and became available on Android in November 2015. World Message launched in March 2017 and is now available on Android devices. This completes Norwood’s Virtualised Mobile Services’ smartphone platform coverage for the Company’s two major consumer and corporate endpoint Apps.

In addition to voice calling and messaging services that seamlessly integrate with the traditional mobile voice and SMS networks, World Phone and World Message, when combined with Norwood’s scalable Corona and Europa platforms, also allow users to access Norwood’s Virtual ID™ and Virtual Business ID™ solutions. These two solutions enable a second virtual mobile identity to be created on the one handset, either directly by the individual customer, or by their corporate employer.

Virtual ID allows individuals and small business operators to take back control of their second mobile numbers while reducing their monthly phone expenses. Norwood also offers a scalable Virtual Business ID service, delivered through its Corona platform, which allows large organisations to manage their virtual mobile fleets effortlessly and at low cost. Virtual IDs and Virtual Business IDs are now available in volume in 19 countries around the world.

Norwood also recently secured US trademark registration for the World Phone name and mark, which complements the Company’s earlier successful trademark registration for World Phone in the EU.
